The Phemister Family 4: Gettin' In The Groove and PRESCHOOL!

It's been 6 weeks since Oakley joined our family and we are starting to get into a groove as family of 4. Well, as much of a groove as you can get into with a newborn and almost 3 year old. Life is still chaotic and crazy at times, but it's getting easier.
Oakley has put himself on a little schedule, so that has been nice. He likes to be bathed and in his "pea-pod" (swaddle) around 8 or 9 and then his generally out for the night with some rocking. Wakes up once or twice and has an awake time from about 5-6am then goes back down until about 8. Naps frequently throughout the day still, of course. He wants to be rocked or worn for all of his naps, no swing for him. He's a pretty happy baby and we are so thankful for that. We had a couple of really bad nights about 2 weeks ago. We thought he might be colicy but *crossing our fingers* those terrible nights passed and there are no signs of colic right now. Yay.

Really big stuff happened this week... Harlen started pre-school!! Just one day a week (for now), but she LOVED it. She gave me a high-five and a kiss and told me bye. No tears. Very proud of our big girl! She had a great time and begged to go back. Her teachers are amazing and it helps that she has her good friends in her class with her. We have been going to the school to play (for their open play) for about a month now, so she got used to the environment and staff. I think that was a huge help in her feeling comfortable there. It is her favorite place. It's pretty darn cool.

The day before pre-school started we took advantage of public school starting statewide by going to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. No crowds now that school is back in session.
