SUMMER

Summer is here and we are up to some fun things! We have been swimming a lot lately and with Harlen's fear of the pool and since all she wants to do is play on the steps or AROUND the pool we decided it was pretty much a necessity to get her swim classes this summer. We signed her up for a "crash course", a lot of swimming in a short amount of time. So hopefully she will get more brave, learn a few key swimming skills and be all set for lots of pool fun the rest of the summer. She also is taking a fun summer camp this week! She has one more camp at the end of summer and in between then we plan to have lots of fun playdates, pool days, and I'm sure some visits to the splash park. So much fun!

Finished up her first year of preschool! What a great year it was!

Such a difference, in so many ways. I was terrified of her going to school the first day because she had never been dropped off anywhere, well she did great that day and fast forward to the end of the year she would practically run through the school door and she was so sad when school was over for the year. She will be so ready for fall. :)

They both love this climber with a slide. They have so much fun together on it. Oakley sure can book it up the slide and H loves to sit at the bottom of the slide and catch Oakley when he decides to slide down.

Harlen begged to ride one of these in the mall forever and this day we actually forgot our double stroller so she got her wish! I don't know if she or Oakley liked it more. lol

More library dates with friends. We are currently participating in the summer reading club at the local library so we are keeping a log of all the books we read and then we turn it in for a special prize, a new book. Harlen is loving it and it has encouraged her to want to read lots more. "Mom, we need to add that to my reading log!".

Garrett and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on the 20th. We left Oakley for the time with grandma and grandpa. Such a fun night out!

Oakley - 11 Months

11 months old.

Less than a month until the big birthday. I just don't believe it. This month has been big for you. So many new and exciting things you have been able to do and discover. You really have cruising down and move from furniture to furniture well. You haven't taken any steps yet, but you like to walk while holding someone's hands. The push walker is not your favorite thing because you are so strong you just want to make it topple over and go head over heels. You have so many new sounds and noises this month its crazy. Oh, and your absolute favorite thing to do right now is to throw. You love any kind of ball and love to throw them, but you will also throw anything you can find. You like to play "ball" with anyone and throw it back and forth, you love throwing balls on the tile floor and listening for the bounce and then you chase after it and do it again and you really love throwing things off the bed. Yep, that's a fun one. Maybe a future baseball player??
At 11 months old you are....
- wearing size 2-3t clothes, size 6 diaper, size 6 shoe
- taking 2 naps a day
- can brush your hair
- can wave
- give high 5's
- can say uh oh, oww, and wow
- cruising along furniture
- can climb stairs
- loves veggie straws, mandarin oranges, blueberries, goldfish and chicken
- nurses... a lot
- sleeps from about 9-7/8
- you are loving the pool and your baby float... if there is a ball near you or in your hands
- obsessed with any kind of ball, any soccer, football, basketball, or bouncy ball you see you have to get your hands on it.
- you can throw really well
- you give such sweet kisses and hugs
