End of Spring Adventures

We have been out and about these last few weeks! We have enjoyed the warm weather, but it's not the terrible summer heat yet and school is still in for the "big" kids so places are less crowded than they will be this summer. Next week is the last week of school and then it is officially summer for us! Can't wait for all our summer fun and pool time!
(I really just needed to make this post so I have an appropriate place to store these photos.)

Harlen's sweet friend Alayna is back for the summer and H is one HAPPY girl! She has been asking, practically daily to see her since September. :)

FIRST Haircut!

We have been trying to convince Harlen that she needed a haircut for months. It is so long and thick and with summer heat around the corner it just had to happen. She was opposed to it for the longest time, but with a little encouraging and a tiny bit of pushing she agreed. First, we went to see the salon (Sweet & Sassy). We met the stylist and had them take us on a tour and "dry run" so that Harlen new exactly what was going to happen. Then we booked the appointment and started a countdown to the big day. She would ask me every morning, "How many more days until my haircut?" Finally, the day arrived. She was so brave and excited. The lollipop really won her over. The stylist asked how much we wanted to cut off and I showed her about how much. Garrett asked if we could donate it and she said if we cut off just a little more than what we planned that we could, in fact, send it off to donate. So, we asked Harlen and she thought it was so cool that another little girl would get to have some of her hair and she wanted to share it... so off it went! She cut quite a bit. It looks so cute and will be perfect for summer. And I'm sure by the winter it will have grown right back out if she wants her long hair again. :)

Oakley - 10 Months!

10 months old and growing so fast. You have really taken off this month, especially these last 2 weeks. You are cruising along furniture, pulling up on anything and everything, getting so strong, crawling super fast, and climbing. Must be a boy thing because in just this last week you have figured out that you can climb and you are so strong. It amazes me what you try and climb up. You have started standing without assistance, but have no interest in taking steps unless someone is holding both your hands and really encouraging you. I know you will want to soon though. You are so funny and have the best giggle. I sure have loved the last month with you!

At 10 months old you are...
- Nursing 4-5 times a day
- wearing size 5 shoe, 2t shirts, 3t shorts, and size 6 diaper
- standing and crusing
- clapping
- pointing
- yelling!
- "talking" and making lots of sounds
- growing tons and tons of curls
- love to bang on things
- still love to be worn in the carrier
- love mandarin oranges, chicken, Greek yogurt, goldfish and strawberries
- are about 29lbs
- you love your sister and will yell for her if she leaves the room and you want her back

Love you, Oakley!!
