Playing Around...

We haven't been up to too much this February, especially with my leg situation, but I'm in a boot now and on the road to quick recovery. Just in time for the spring weather and both kids ready to be outdoors. We had a little glimpse of it this weekend and it was so nice. Lately we have been going to preschool (well, just H), hanging out with grandma and grandpa and just really going places on the weekends when daddy can help carry and load. It's been fun, but we are ready to be back out and about soon.

Loving her new car seat
Squeeze! A lot of squeezing goes on between those two.
Grandma took us out for a little park time.
Valentine's party with the bff at school
Chuck E. Cheese shenanigans with daddy
Sand play at Bass Pro before lunch with Grandma
Harlen made herself comfy reading boating magazines while we waited for our food.
Trying out the fun "toys" they have on display.
Klyde Warren park. Love that place.
Right before a little adventure walk with daddy. Purse in hand. Shortly after she came back to bring me her purse, sweater and shoes. Because why would you want shoes to go on a walk? That's my girl.

American Girl store fun.
Water splashin at the park. A little cold, but she didn't care.
Before nap snuggles.
I used an electric scooter at the grocery store and H thought it was the best ride.
Late night frozen yogurt fun.

They thought this was so fun. Who knew the little trailer in the back of the Cozy Coupe was for little brothers?!
They like to play in the tent and H tells me to just look in from the window. She was showing him how she plays guitar and then there was dancing. Oakley was giggling his head off. Cute stuff.
Chuck E. Cheese, again, with dad.
Telling brother crayons are for coloring and NOT for eating. Oakley didn't listen or care.
That plus sitting, rocking, nursing, bath time, more nursing and more rocking and you have our February.

Oakley - 7 Months

7 Months! Every month keeps flying by, little Oakley. And you are too much fun! You have been wanting to explore more and more lately. You are going to be crawling so soon!

At 7 months old you are...
- loving food. Anything and everything that gets put in your mouth or arm's reach.
- take 3 naps a day
- you go to sleep around 9 and wake up around 8, waking up about once a night
- in size 5 diaper, 18-24 month clothes, and I would guess close to 28-9 pounds.
- have started to babble more and more and love to make funny noises with your mouth and lips
- can pull up, still just to your knees and are still crawling backwards and not forwards but you are getting close. You rock back and forth on all fours and think about it really hard. Pretty soon, my boy.
- love bath time
- can drink out of a straw and your sippy cup. You love drinking water!
- nurse about 6-7 times a day, I would guess.
- you don't like putting on clothes. After I get you naked you are all smiles and giggles, then I start to put your clothes on and you tighten your legs and yell. lol. Come summer time I'm sure just a diaper will suffice most days at home.
- love having books read to you and listening to daddy sing at night.

We just love every little bit of you, O!

You love your new car seat

Who Has Time For Broken Bones??

Life has been somewhat put on pause for us recently... I broke my ankle while at the park with the kids in the middle of January and have been in a cast on crutches ever since. It has been a very rough few weeks. We haven't been able to go out and do much. Less than 2 weeks until I get my cast off and can be mobile again and I couldn't be happier.
Here is what we have been up to in the mean time...

Ughhhhh. Wish a could do a do-over of that day at the park.
Working on her water painting skills. No mess clean up. Win.
H got a new Frontier car seat-booster since "little" brother had to move up to her old convertible seat.
H and I made our way around Canton, in the freezing rain, by scooting. We had the BEST time!
We went to my fave place downtown for pasta. The pasta we had delivered at 3am a few hours after Oakley was born. Hadn't had it since I was in the hospital. Yum!
Bruno Mars made H's (and grandma's) dreams come true by being the half-time show during the Super Bowl.
Cosleeping :)
Harlen and Garrett have been on a few Chuck E. Cheese dates.
The endless hair battle. And now she doesn't want it to be put up most days. It's going to grow down to her knees here soon!
This girl has been such a great helper while I have needed extra helping. It hasn't been easy on anyone, but she tries so hard.
We got snow and then ice. Yuck.
She got to play in the snow at school. And her teacher told me she was the first one to initiate a snowball fight. LOL

Bounce house play fun! Great way to get her pent up energy out.
